Lime Out is a floating taco bar with locations on St. John and St. Thomas, giving boaters two ways to build the experience into a day exploring the USVI. The original Lime Out opened in 2019 on the East End of St. John before moving to its current Coral Bay location.
Lime Out St. John
The St. John Lime Out floats in Coral Bay Harbor on the island’s East End.
It is accessible by boat only and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Lime Out specifically asks visitors not to swim, kayak or paddleboard to the restaurant.
The Coral Bay location works naturally into a day exploring St. John, particularly if your itinerary already includes the island’s East End, snorkeling, beaches or scenic cruising.
Current hours: Sunday through Friday, 10:30 AM–4:30 PM. Closed Saturdays. Lime Out currently advertises happy hour from 2:30 PM until close.
Lime Out St. Thomas
Lime Out’s St. Thomas location floats in Lindbergh Bay on the West End of St. Thomas.
Like the St. John location, it is accessible by boat only and operates first come, first served. Lime Out also operates dedicated access options from St. Thomas, including its Taco Taxi and other excursions.
The St. Thomas location can work especially well for guests looking to combine a Lime Out stop with a broader day on the water around St. Thomas and nearby islands.
Current hours: Daily, 10:30 AM–4:30 PM.
What’s on the Menu?
Lime Out centers its menu around tacos, handcrafted cocktails, local juices, beer, wine and fresh hibiscus tea. Chef Amaro Rivera leads the food program.
Your Lime Out menu includes tacos such as Caribbean Chicken, Ceviche, Short Rib, Rum Rib, Shrimp, Vegan, Surf + Turf and Spiced Tuna. Cocktail options include the Nene Margarita, Coco Colada, Mango Mako, Hunter’s Passion and Smokin’ Luca.
Visiting Lime Out by Boat
Both Lime Out locations are designed around arriving from the water.
At St. John, Lime Out asks boaters to operate at no-wake speed and take particular care around coral, seagrass and private mooring balls. At St. Thomas, day-use mooring balls are available around the restaurant and Lime Out asks boaters not to anchor around the floating bar.
For a private charter, Lime Out does not have to be the entire day. It can be one stop within a larger itinerary built around beaches, snorkeling, scenic cruising and time on the water.
